1. Set a goal
Do you want to lose 30lbs by your wedding day? Be able to bench press two plates a side in 3 months? Reach sub 10% body fat for your summer holiday?
Be clear with what you want to achieve. Put numbers down. Be specific and make the goal personal to you.
2. Tell yourself ‘why’ you must succeed
There are going to be days when you don’t want it. When you’ve had a long week at work, a lack of sleep or feel mentally drained. When these times occur (which they will), what’s the drive thats going to keep you going?
Is the reason you need to succeed because you’re not confident enough to get undressed in front of your partner? Is it because you’re scared to take your top off at the beach? Or because you want to enhance your performance at work?
The ‘why’ will be the key factor in helping you stay disciplined when everything else is telling you to give in.
3. Get the knowledge and support to do so
Is it help with diet that you need? How many calories to eat? Cardio? What weights to do? What supplements to take? Make sure you obtain the correct knowledge and know how from an expert and hire a coach or PT to help keep you accountable.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
